Connectors describe technical capability. Skills describe business capability.
A Connector exposes an action such as outlook.draft.create. A Skill describes a job: Prepare Client Reminder.
| Prepare Client Reminder | |
|---|---|
| Uses | Client data, Xero, SharePoint, Outlook |
| May | Read client status · Read missing documents · Create Outlook draft |
| May not | Read payroll · Read another client · Send email |
Why Skills matter
Giving an AI access to Outlook usually means giving it everything Outlook can do. A Skill narrows that to the job at hand. The AI can draft the reminder; it cannot send it, and it cannot see anything the task does not need.
How Skills are shared
Skills can be private, shared with a team, available across an organisation, or — in future — published for others to install. Each Skill declares its requirements, so an organisation knows exactly what it is granting before it enables one.
